Honest Burgers found itself at a crossroads when its existing POS system reached the end of its life cycle. Tommy Giraux, Head of Restaurant Systems, had been with the company for over a decade and understood the need for a robust, future-proof solution.

The existing POS was outdated and lacked essential features needed to support its growth ambitions. With only one update in two years, the system was stifling innovation, making it difficult to introduce new offerings like loyalty programs and Self-order Kiosks.

Honest Burgers required a constantly evolving platform that would fit seamlessly into its existing hardware setup and support its long-term expansion plans without excessive integration challenges.

Disconnected data, inefficient platforms

Before moving to Vita Mojo, managing the restaurant’s digital operations was a cumbersome task. Honest Burgers had to juggle multiple separate menus across different platforms (POS, Click-and-Collect, delivery services, and reporting systems), all of which required manual updates. This inefficiency wasted days every month and complicated site-level operations.

Additionally, staff had to manage a ‘tablet party,’ with multiple devices required for different ordering channels.

By transitioning to Vita Mojo, all these disparate systems were unified into a single platform, dramatically reducing menu management to just an hour per month.

Consolidating all operational tools into one tablet streamlined reporting, order management, and day-to-day tasks, significantly optimising efficiency across locations.

An exceptional solution to simplify operations

Initially skeptical about Vita Mojo’s capabilities, Tommy was quickly won over by the platform’s improvements and extensive feature set. Unlike other solutions, Vita Mojo provided an all-in-one system that integrated POS, loyalty programs, Kiosks, and online ordering without the need for third-party add-ons.

The flexibility of Vita Mojo’s platform was another major advantage. Honest Burgers could continue using their existing iPads, or switch to Android or mobile devices as needed.

The powerful reporting tools stood out as some of the best in the industry, allowing Honest Burgers to gain deeper insights and make data-driven decisions to improve their operations.

Unlocking new concepts and revenue streams

One of the key reasons Honest Burgers selected Vita Mojo from a dozen competing vendors was its ability to support the launch of new restaurant concepts.

With the new QSR brand ‘Smash + Grab,’ the company ventured into high-footfall areas and travel hubs with a fast-service, grab-and-go model. Thanks to Vita Mojo’s modular platform, the team could easily replicate their setup across different locations, selecting the necessary features without starting from scratch.

Honest Burgers also found an innovative way to extend their reach by using Vita Mojo’s order-and-pay technology.

In about a quarter of their locations, they adapted the system to enable delivery to local pubs that did not serve food. Customers could scan a QR code at the pub, place an order, and receive their meal directly from the nearest Honest Burgers kitchen.

This creative use of technology allowed the brand to increase revenue without the overhead of opening new locations, while also strengthening partnerships with local businesses.

Real-time insights to improve restaurant performance

The team closely monitors key metrics such as transactions per hour and fulfilment times, using a custom-built dashboard to track order progress from kiosk placement to customer handover.

By analysing the time taken at each stage (grill, fryer, assembly and final handover), Honest Burgers continuously identifies areas for improvement, ensuring that customers receive freshly cooked meals in under five minutes.

This data-driven approach has helped the team optimize workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and maintain high service standards.
